Powers & Skills: Dorian is a powerful Altus, aka magic user. He reaches across the spirtual divide, what the Tevinters call 'The Fade', to access magical power, which he accents with potions when necessary. He is primarily a mage who deals with fire, because of his fiery nature, but he is fascinated with Necromancy and is the considered expert in Tevinter and abroad. He does not raise the dead, but he can invoke the feelings of horror and dread, and he can take life force from his enemies if they hurt him in kind. He's also not ashamed of his powers, nor does he hide them. He is also a magical and historical scholar of some note, known to craft spells and improve old ones through careful application of magical powers. He is very specifically against Blood Magic, however, which is the use of augmenting one's power by using your own blood, or the blood of others.

Position & Occupation: Librarian of Magical Studies, tenured scholar of Imperio. He is also a working mage, so he will work or study magic for you if need be.

Home Location: Tevene, in the south of Italia. Population, 1,200, split into smaller magical clans called Houses. They do own slaves of the human variety.

Appearance: Dorian is a twenty-five year old man with dark, curling hair that he slicks back using natural lotions, a finely groomed mustache and goatee and wicked grey eyes that often carry a sense of weariness, sarcasm, passion, or open curiosity. He is extremely well built, with lightly tanned skin and an easy, charming grin. He is good looking and he wears clothes and scents to emphasize that.

Family: Magister Halward, Head of House Pavus and father, Moreena Pavus, mother. He is currently estranged from both of them.

Bio: Dorian Pavus was born in 2365, the bright and shining hope of House Pavus. Brought into this world between two strong magical users from two powerful houses. His parents had the best genes and the best pedigrees. They also hated one another, but they put that aside for their son, to raise him to be a powerful altus who would some day take his place on the Council of Tevene. Dorian grew up wanting to impress his father, tolerate his mother's constant nagging about acting appropriately, and loving magic and all its nuances. He also knew that he was different, when it came to relationships between boys and girls. While most little boys in Tevene would chase after girls to kiss them, Dorian looked for the little boys willing to chase him instead.

He grew into a powerful mage, with little interest in politics but a hunger and thirst for knowledge of the arcane. He also grew up to be fully homosexual, something that he was careful to keep hidden away from his parents. Yet when it came time to arrange a marriage, to have him settle down and create an heir of his own, he balked. Refused to be something that he was not, just to appease his parents. In retaliation, his father tried to force a ritual on him that would make him more ... compliant with their wishes, but before he had a chance to finish the preparations, Dorian came in on him.

Then Dorian ran.

He joined the rebellion of commoners and common mages against the clans, using his bitterness and anger at his father to lash out at those who oppressed with every breath. Yet when the battle was over, and the rebels cheered for their freedom ... Dorian left, to travel, and find a new path, a new adventure. He had no home to go, so he decided to make the world his home. He was only eighteen years old.

He traveled for five years, gathering magical knowledge and studying with all the magic users he could find. Taking some of their own styles, and melding it into his own. When he was twenty three, he traveled finally to Imperio City, and fell in love with it. He decided he had to stay, and went and dazzled the Library in the city to taken him on as their Keeper of Magical Tomes. Now, Imperia has the most through library of magical history and practices in all of Italia, perhaps in Europa.

More importantly, Dorian has found a place of acceptance, and if not always peace (he is still an out and proud magic user). He has found home.
